Despite Gold & Silver for Dina Asher Smith and Gold For Katarina Johnson Thompson, Team GB ended the World Athletics Championships with their lowest medal total since 2005. The Team GB men won silver in the 4 x 100m but the women's 4 x 400m bronze was overturned and in the men's 4 x 400m, a botched handover saw them out of the medals with the USA taking Gold.

USA were top of the table with 29 medals, followed by Kenya with 11 and Jamaica also with 11. China was 4th, Ethiopia 5th and Team GB 6th.
