Michael Schumacher's son Mick will be given a chance to participate in an upcoming F1 Grand Prix in 2020.
Schumacher and British driver Callum Ilott will both drive in first practice at the Eifel Grand Prix on 9 October.
Ferrari Academy members, Schumacher and Ilott, both 21, are first and second in the Formula 2 Championship with two races remaining.
It is expected that at least one of them will be promoted to F1 next year, with Alfa Romeo and Haas the teams most likely to take them as they affiliated with Ferrari.
In preparation for their F1 weekend debuts, they will test at Ferrari's Fiorano test track in a 2018 F1 car, being far more complex than the F2 cars they are used to driving.
